I have no vendetta against Cathy O. She helped to restore Manitoba's pride in womens curling and she's clearly the best third in our storied provincial history.

However, there have been let downs and you shouldn't shine over these. Mostly at the world level, also the two trial disappointments she participated with JJ.
In addition to their 4 Canadian championships they also had a nifty runner up finish to Jones's main foil Kelly Scott.

My main point is that there's not enough good thirds in Manitoba and that makes Cathy Overton a valued commodity, regardless of how she fares when pitted up against top thirds like Lund, Kim Kelly, Schraeder, etc.

But I think I'll have to agree with you for this year jammer. Even with Morris coaching (from afar) and Kaitlynn shooting her head off it still boils down to Jones making enough big shots at criticlal times. And not fouling up on line and weight calls.

A lot of folks continue to write Jennifer Jones off simply cuz they don't like her attitude or demeanour. But here's a warning - Don't write off this tenacious women just yet. She's been through a ton of stuff and she basically owns the STOH. Look at all her meaningful appearances. 4 Golds, 1 Silver. Jones is big time.

Personally here's the field I'd like to see hook up with JJ in PEI.

BC - Schreader with a new skip combo
Alta - Bernard (no one else)
Sask - Lawton
Man - Overton's new squad.
Ont - Homan or McCarville
Que - Larouch or Annie Lemay
PEI - Carmody & Co.
NS - Coco Jones
NB - Andrea Kelly
NWT - Whoever, probably Koe
Nfld - Any team with Pegg Goss on it.

JJ could be a lamb going into slaughter in a field like that. Or she could start methodically slaying giants and be there at the end.
